confidential family planning service
is available including the
contraceptive injection, fitting of
caps and coils and implants. We have
a full range of family planning
information leaflets and a family
planning clinic is held weekly at
both surgeries.

Preconception
Counselling |
Please make an
appointment to see the family
planning nurse.
Women are advised
to have a cervical smear at least
every 3 years from age 25 to 49
years and 5 years aged 50-64. If you
need a smear, why not come along to
a well-woman clinic?

Child Health
Development Clinic |
Pre-school
children are seen regularly for
advice, medical examinations and
development checks. Please contact a
Health Visitor for more information.
The community
midwife team provide a full
maternity service at both surgeries.
Antenatal parent craft classes are
held locally.
Ask the
receptionist for details.

These are
important to prevent serious
illnesses. Appointments will be sent
out direct from Child Health Dept.
However if you are unable to attend
your appointment you are welcome to
bring your child to clinic the
following week or check in to a
practice nurses clinic.

Minor
Surgery and Wart Treatment |
A variety of minor
operations, joint and soft tissue
injections are performed by the
doctors. Please consult your GP for
further information.
We offer a full
range of vaccinations and travel
advice. See the practice nurse.
Run by the Health
Visitors at The Beehive Surgery for
social and family problems on an
informal basis every Thursday 9.00 –
midday (unless notified otherwise).
Full chiropody
services are available at St
Michael’s Surgery. Ask the
Receptionist for details.

Influenza
and Pneumonia Vaccinations
|
Are available in
September/October/November.
Information regarding
influenza/pneumonia vaccination
clinics will be posted in the
waiting room and on the web site in
the Autumn. Patients who are over 65
or who suffer from asthma, diabetes,
heart disease or chronic ill health
are strongly advised to be
vaccinated. Carer’s of people with
long term disability or chronic
illness are also entitled to
vaccination.

COGNITIVE
BEHAVIOUR THERAPY (CBT)
|
One to one guided
self help sessions are run weekly at
St Michael’s Surgery. CBT is
beneficial for people suffering from
mild to moderate anxiety or
depression. Referral for CBT is via
GP/HV/Practice Nurses
