You may have heard on the news the government is looking to get rid of the 8AM rush for appointments.
As mentioned on the Government website in the What the Prime Minister’s Primary Care Recovery Plan means for you – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) patients will either be given an appointment immediately when they call, if there is availability or signposted to a more appropriate service such as NHS 111 or local pharmacy
At St Michaels and The Beehive Surgery, we are working towards a new plan with our Primary Care Network, (Minerva PCN). This won’t be immediate as changes take time to put in place. As soon as we have changes to implement, we will let you know.
You might be asked to try alternative options, because they are more appropriate for your care or because our clinicians are fully booked, and extra appointments have already been added.
General Practice is delivering more than a million appointments every day and half a million more every week than pre-pandemic.
In the past month we have dealt with 3123 appointments; 195 patients did not attend for their appointment. It is really important to cancel your appointment to free it up for someone else.
We are trying to recruit staff to clinical and non-clinical positions so please be patient with our current staff, they are doing their best to help you.
There are many ways you can help yourself before contacting the practice, please see the following link MiServiceFinder
Thank you for patience.
