I began my nurse training in Frenchay Hospital, Bristol. After qualifying in 1993 I worked on Respiratory and Orthopaedic Wards in Frenchay and then moved to the Bristol Royal Infirmary to work on Vascular and General Surgery Wards and later in the Accident and Emergency Department. My next move was to General Practice which I especially enjoyed for the variety and continuity.
I had a long career break to raise my three sons and as a family we lived abroad twice, in Brazil and later in Germany. Once my youngest son was in school, I completed a return to practice course and re-registered in 2012. Since then, I worked as a Practice Nurse treating long term conditions, women’s health and wound care, later studying to become an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, while working in a variety of General Practice surgeries in Bath and Bristol. I have a special interest in Contraception and Sexual Health and in Minor Illness.
Outside of work I enjoy Ceroc Dancing, hill walking and cycling and spending time with family and friends. General Practice is still the best place to work and I look forward to getting to know patients at St Michael’s Partnership.
